Why are they at risk?
Due to a lack of financial support, farmers are selling their land for development or resorting to unsustainable farming methods. This is one of the root causes in the disappearance of these highly biodiverse forests that have existed for centuries.
Together with the Forest Healing Foundation, 10% of our profit is donated towards new spice trees and the conservation of forest lands at risk of destruction. By purchasing our spices you are therefore helping to protect these beautiful, highly biodiverse forests and ensuring a sustainable spice trade.

Our spices come directly from Kandyan Forest Gardens in central Sri Lanka.
What are Kandyan Forest Gardens?
It is an ancient agro-forestry method designed to sustainably grow a whole range of fruits and spices in amongst the native forest trees. Originating many centuries ago, this style of farming can be found across the wet areas of central Sri Lanka including Kandy.
This practice is inherently organic and is home to an abundance of wildlife including deer, giant squirrels, the endangered toque macaque monkeys and over 60 species of birds, making it one of the most biodiverse forests in the world.
