Dried Jackfruit

Jackfruit is a highly versatile fruit that is becoming a popular alternative to meat.  It is also called the Jack of all Fruits due to its richness in minerals, vitamin A protein, fiber and carbohydrates. 

Our dried Jackfruit is ideal for cooking as it includes Jackfruit seeds, naimiris and whole pepper making it perfect for a Jackfruit Mallung (see recipe below) or even a Jackfruit Kottu Roti!

Ingredients

100% Jackfruit, Jackfruit Seeds, Naimiris (Scotch Bonnet Chilli), Whole Black Pepper

Recipe

YOU WILL NEED: 

1 x packet of Dried Eko Land Jack Fruit                         1 x onion (chopped)

1/2 x whole coconut or 150g shredded coconut            1/2 x tsp salt

5 x cloves of garlic (chopped)                                      1/2 x tsp turmeric

1/2 x tsp mustards seeds

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Soak the Jackfruit seeds in boiling water for 20 minutes and the jackfruit strips for 15 minutes until soft

2. Grind the coconut, onion, pepper, nai miris (scotch bonnet chilli), turmeric and salt and mix together

3. Heat some oil and the mustard seeds in a pin. Add the ground mixture and a splash of hot water and fry for 5 minutes over a low heat

4. Mix in the Jack fruit and fry for a further 10 minutes, stirring frequently

5. Serve and enjoy!

Jackfruit Seed Flour

Jackfruit flour is made from the Seed that contains a high amount of protein and iron and has multiple health benefits such as improved digestion and lowering blood sugar levels. 

 

The Jackfruit seed flour can be used to make a variety of dishes such as Wade, Roti, Pittu and Chapati.  The flour is 100% gluten free but has to be mixed with rice or wheat flour for binding if making roti, pittu or wade.

Coffee

Our Coffee is a mixture of Arabica and Robusta which is sourced of from smallholder farmers and collection points within a 5km radius of our village. The Ground Coffee is hand-sorted and hard-roasted by our very coffee experts Kalyani, Sandiya and Sumitra giving your coffee a personalised flavour.

Our fresh coffee is available in the form of Beans, Ground and Fine Ground in both Dark or Medium Roast.

Wild Cinnamon

This is not just cinnamon. This is what we call Wild Cinnamon, which is gorwn naturally instead of a plantation. It is sourced by smallholder farmers within a 5km radius of our village. 

Our Cinnamon is available in pieces and powder which is freshly grounded.

Black Pepper

Our pepper is locally sourced from our 13 acre land and surrounding area all within a 500 metre radius. We hand-pick our pepper, dry and grind the pepper to give it a premium quality.

Sri Lankan (Ceylon) Black Pepper is considered one of the best in the world due to its high piperine content giving it a superior quality and pungency. 

Our Black Pepper is available in Ground or Whole.

Nutmeg

Our Nutmeg is locally sourced from small hold farmers within 5km of our location.  We adapt a ZERO waste policy where all parts of the Nutmeg are used.  We offer Whole Nutmeg, Ground Nutmeg and Mace. The husk of the Nutmeg which is often thrown away is used to make a chutney.

Cloves (Hand-picked)

Our Cloves are locally sourced from small hold farmers within 500 metres of our location. We are surrounded by Clove trees and our villagers can often be seen picking cloves from our base of operations.
